The motif for this year’s Annual Collectible Plate depicts a flock of sheep walking through a Danish forest. The shepherd carries a tired lamb in his arms, as he stops to admire an old Viking monument. The 2023 Royal Copenhagen Annual Plate is in its 116th edition and has been designed by the Danish artist Allan Therkelsen. The relief for the “Christmas Time in the Forest” motif has been hand-cut by Royal Copenhagen’s talented modelling artists and hand painted in cobalt blue underglaze. The porcelain plate measures 7” in diameter and includes Royal Copenhagen gift box and brochure.
