A fifth generation Jerusalemite, Sam Philipe is known for his sculptures of biblical and New Testament figures. After serving in the Israel Defense Forces as a combat medic, he earned a living sculpting animals in chocolate. Philipe opened his first studio in 1989 and began designing jewelry, sculptures, and ornaments. His work has been presented to government leaders around the world as gifts from the Israeli government. His ornaments are three dimensional and many have a pin on the back for wearing.
