With a BFA in Sculpture and a minor in Metalsmithing from the Maine College of Art in Portland, ME, Rebecca Nightingale relocated to Providence, RI to pursue her passion. For six years she designed jewelry and figurines for Swarovski, Ltd in Cranston, RI, becoming a freelance model maker/designer. For over twenty-six years she has sculpted figurative table top items for many of the biggest names in the industry, such as Lenox, Reed & Barton and Oneida. She has combined that experienced knowledge of casting and metals and the love of design and sculpture with her life-long love of cats and kittens, in particular, to design and create a new collection under the name Cat of Mine. With careful attention to realistic detail, she’s captured the beauty and humor of the playful kittens in this collection of unique Christmas ornaments in sterling silver. Cat lovers and other avid collectors will want to add these to their family heirlooms.
