Letter Style

Using names with plain text to personalize an item is a popular choice. A first or last name, first and last name, or first, middle, and last name can be engraved depending on available space. For some items it may be necessary to engrave on multiple lines to include the full name. This is a common choice for those who would like to include a date as well. (Robert David Smith)

Engraving Initials

A traditional three letter monogram includes three initials with the last initial larger in the center with the first initial on the left and the middle initial on the right. (Robert David Smith)

For couples with the same last name a traditional three letter monogram can be used with the last initial centered larger in the center and the couple’s first initials on either side. (Rita & Matthew Smith)

Date Style

For smaller items we recommend a numerical date where numbers are separated by slashes, dashes, periods or center dots.

    Engraving Dates

An alphanumeric date is a great option when the item has enough room.

Engraving Position

The most popular engraving position for a handled baby brush is handle down, especially when the dominant hand of the child is unknown. When the handled brush is engraved in this position it is a good orientation for a right- or left- handed child.

    Engraving Posiiton Handled Brush

The most popular engraving position for a handle-less baby brush is the length. With handle-less baby brushes the dominant hand of the child does not factor into the orientation of the engraving.

    Engraving Position Brush

The most popular engraving position for a baby rattle is the end. Both ends as well as the handle are all engravable. The ends of the rattle are best suited for monograms, initials, first names and numeric dates. The handle of the rattle can accommodate the aforementioned as well as full names, alphanumeric dates or short sentiments.

    Engraving Position Baby Rattle

The most popular engraving position for a baby cup is handle left. The cup can also be engraved with the handle to the right or on the bottom. If you would like a right-handed child to view the engraving during use choose the handle right position or choose the handle left position if you want others to view the engraving. If you would like a left-handed child to view the engraving during use choose the handle left position or choose the handle right position if you want others to view the engraving.

With handled flatware, barware and other giftware items the position of the engraving can be handle up, handle down, handle left and handle right. When the engraved item is in the correct orientation to be read the handle will be pointing in the direction chosen.

Engraving Method

We utilize a state of the art fiber laser for engraving. The fiber laser allows for clearer text whether small or large. Fiber lasers do not physically touch the surface they are engraving thus avoiding dents that can be caused by machine or hand engravers. Custom engraving is available for company logos, images, and designs. Please contact us for more information.
